The Yonex West of Scotland Badminton Championships take place in October every year at the Sir Craig Reedie Centre, welcoming competitive seniors to compete in a number of disciplines including singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

The next Yonex West of Scotland Championships will take place in 2023 with dates TBC.

New to the 2022/23 season, Yonex West of Scotland ranking events at Grade B (Silver) and Grade C (Bronze) are being introduced to bring more opportunities to players of a competitive standard to earn ranking points towards selection for national and international BADMINTONscotland events.

The dates of the ranking events have been confirmed for 2022/23:

• Bronze (Grade C) — Sunday 27 November 2022 (More info: www.westbadminton.co.uk/bronze)
• Silver (Grade B) — Sunday 12 March 2023 (More info: www.westbadminton.co.uk/silver)

The Yonex West of Scotland Masters Team event is a non-ranking team competition aimed at players aged 35 and over.

Teams are arranged by a captain appointed by the team, and include a minimum of three men and three women. Each tie is the best of five matches consisting of Men’s and Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles.

There are no restrictions on teams entering the competition, as we encourage players from different counties or clubs to enter together as a team. We can also support individuals looking for a team to enter by putting them in touch with other open entries.

Dates for the Yonex West of Scotland Masters Team 2023 event will be confirmed at a later date. It will take place at the Sir Craig Reedie Badminton Centre.

Adult Social Badminton provides social players aged 18+ an opportunity to play competitive games in a friendly environment.

These events are perfect for the casual player who is looking to increase their ability at a competitive level, but is not quite ready to play more advanced competitions.
